This extra virgin olive oil is produced from Frantoio, Moraiolo and Grignano olives, grown by the Cordioli family on their farm in the hills above Verona. It is a medium-fruity oil that evokes green almond and citrus, with evident notes of freshly cut grass. In the mouth, it recalls both artichoke and cardoon. It has a decisive bitterness and enduring pungency.
Cold extracted within hours of harvesting, the oil is estate bottled in small lots.
Set in the hills above Verona, the Cordioli farm grows varieties typical of the area--Grignano, Favarol and Pendolino--as well as other Italian cultivars, such as Frantoio and Moraiolo. The husband (Italian) and wife (American) owners are involved with every aspect of growing, harvesting, milling and blending, and take pride in their hands-on, artisanal approach to the business. Always favoring quality over quantity, they have consistently produced award-winning olive oils since 2012.
