Old Fench Road
The Old French Road olive grove is known by the locals and visitors alike as ‘the Gateway to Akaroa.’ First planted on this picturesque property in 2000, the olive trees are nestled in a 20-acre valley with fresh water springs, ponds and native woods overlooking the Takamatua Bay. Owners Jan Whyte and Niall Holland have consistently produced top-quality EVOO and won Gold, Best in Class and Best Boutique at the 2019 New Zealand Extra Virgin Olive Oil Awards with their Old French Road Picholine.
