Aceite Artajo Blend Awarded at World Competition
Spanish producer Aceite Artajo has won a Gold Award for its Artajo 10 Coupage, an organic delicate blend, at the 2020 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition.
We are very proud to get this recognition for all the hard work we do throughout the year in the olive grove.
Andrea Urzaiz, marketing manager
The company produces organic extra virgin olive oil in the northern Spanish region of Navarre from Changlot Reial, Picual, Cornicabra and Picudo olives using machine methods.
"We are very proud to get this recognition for all the hard work we do throughout the year in the olive grove," marketing manager Andrea Urzaiz said.
She added that every year brings with it the challenge of harveting in time and preserving the natural aromas of the olives.
"Our main concern was to get the optimal ripening and to have the minimal time between harvest and extraction," Urzaiz said. "We have achieved an immediate extraction, in less than two hours."
"Another big challenge was to refrigerate out olives and olive paste during the process in order to get the freshest aromas," she added.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest and its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
