The company, which farms its Picual and Manzanilla olives in Andalusia using traditional methods, employed new procedures during the season, CEO Enrique Del Aguila said upon learning of the win.

"This 2019 we reopened our oil mill after an important restoration. The challenge was working with our new high tech freezing procedure to preserve 100% polyphenols. This allowed us to increase quality in an exponential way," Del Aguila said.

The company's medium Picual Reserva Familiar took a Gold Award, while its Gordal de Granada Reserva Familiar, a medium Manzanilla, took a Silver Award.

"Winning two medals in this prestigious international [contest] is a recognition to all the hard work and effort in the manufacturing of our EVOOs. We can ensure that these awards will increase our sales worldwide," Del Aguila said.
