7 months agoBy OOT Staff

Oro di Milas from Turkey has won a Gold Award at the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.

We feel honored to have been given this recognition, especially with the difficulties in 2023.

Mark Colin, owner

Situated in the southwestern Muğla province, the producer earned the award at the 2024 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for an organic medium-intensity Memecik. The company previously earned two Gold Awards in 2023.

"We feel honored to have been given this recognition, especially with the difficulties in 2023," said owner Mark Colin.

In the 2023/24 crop year, Oro di Milas produced 10 tons of extra virgin olive oil using traditional methods. "We had numerous challenges: the weather, olive fruit fly and labor shortages," Colin confirmed.
