8 months agoBy OOT Staff

French producer Le Domaine de la Sénancole has won a Gold Award at the 2024 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's largest olive oil quality contest.

Based in the southern region of Provence, the company earned its debut NYIOOC award for its Cuvée Ardente brand, an organic medium blend.

Upon learning of the award, Owner Christophe Andrieux said he was proud of the brand and the production team.

He cited drought as the main challenge the company faced in its efforts to produce 2,850 liters of extra virgin olive oil. The producer followed irrigation best practices to get the most out of his 2,250 trees.

The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition is the world's preeminent olive oil quality contest. Its annual list of award winners is the authoritative guide to the world's best olive oils and the dedicated producers who craft them.
