Terra Zakros Awarded Again for Delicate Koroneiki

Greek producer SIA OEE has won a Silver Award for the third time at the 2020 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition.

Winning at the NYIOOC felt great and fulfilling.

The company, which is based in Sitia Lasithiou Kritis, on the eastern end of Crete, earned the award for Terra Zakros, a delicate Koroneiki. The brand previously won Silver at the 2017 and 2018 editions of the competition.

"Winning at the NYIOOC felt great and fulfilling," co-owner Nikolaos Ailamakis said.

In the 2019/20 season, SIA OEE produced 40 tons of extra virgin olive oil using traditional methods.

The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest and its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
