Ojai Olive Oil Caps Bumper Harvest with 4 NYIOOC Awards

7 months agoBy OOT Staff

Ojai Olive Oil Company from the United States has won four awards at the 2024 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's largest olive oil quality contest.

It takes a lot of effort by a lot of people to create our olive oils, and a win like this is a heartfelt validation of all that hard work.

Philip Asquith, owner

The California producer earned Gold Awards for a pair of medium-intensity blends, its Provençale and Tuscan brands. Ojai also earned two Silver Awards for its Andalucian brand, a medium blend, and its Signature brand, an organic medium Columella.

"We were thrilled to win four more awards this year, bringing our grand total to 14," said owner Philip Asquith. "It takes a lot of effort by a lot of people to create our olive oils, and a win like this is a heartfelt validation of all that hard work."

"We’re grateful to the NYIOOC for giving small family farms like ours a platform to show the world what we do," he added.

The awards cap off one of the best harvests Ojai Olive Oil Company—along with many other California producers—has experienced in several years.

"The biggest challenge we had this year was a good one, dealing with the massive crop," Asquith said. "We milled from late September to mid-February, running six days a week at times. It was by far the biggest harvest we’ve ever seen."
