Samir Bayraktar, CEO
The California-based producer received the awards for two monovarietals, including a robust Hojiblanca and robust Picual, along with a medium blend.
"Winning is great motivation," CEO Samir Bayraktar said. "The fruit of your hard work is the sweetest."
The American company produces extra virgin olive oil from Hojiblanca, Picual, Frantoio and Leccino olives.
Bayraktar said that while California is becoming increasingly well-known for high-quality olive oil, his company's innovation is helping them stand out in a crowded field.
"In California, every year, more and more qualified olive oils are produced and they stand out with their top-quality competitors from Italy and Spain," he said. "At Olive Truck, we set out to take these developments to another level by incorporating our own technology, which lets us do the freshest and fastest production from tree to bottle."
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest and its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
