Brač-Based Producer M I Olive Awarded

M I Olive from Croatia has won a Silver Award at the 2024 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's largest olive oil quality contest.

Situated on the island of Brač, off Croatia's southern coast, the producer earned its second-straight World Competition recognition for a medium-intensity Levantinka.

"This is our second year participating in the NYIOOC, and we are really proud to be among the world's best extra virgin olive oils," owner Ivan Pfeiffer said.

In the 203/24 crop year, M I Olive produced 1,000 liters of extra virgin olive oil from its 300-tree grove using traditional methods.

"This year and the harvest were difficult for the olive growers due to the attack of the olive fruit fly," Pfeiffer said. "However, we finished the harvest quite well, and it was over in four days. In the end, we are quite satisfied."
