The Groves on 41 Wins Gold at 2020 NYIOOC
The Groves on 41 from the United States took home a Gold Award at the 2020 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.
The actual harvest was a challenge. ... Yields would have been vastly improved had the harvester had a little more practice.
Karen Tallent, The Groves on 41 CEO
The win, for The Groves on 41 medium Arbequina, was even more of an achievement because the company faced variables, including a new equipment operator, during the harvest season.
"The actual harvest was a challenge. [We had a] new equipment operator. Yields would have been vastly improved, had the harvester had a little more practice, said CEO Karen Tallent.
It was the third win for the The Groves on 41, which snagged Silver Awards in 2018 and 2019.
Tallent said the company was thrilled to be recognized for its hard work in producing extra-virgin olive oil.
"We all work so hard to produce a quality EVOO," she said. "This endorsement will help us get the word out faster, as more people learn how to incorporate this fresh high quality product into their daily cooking routines. An ancient oil made California fresh and even better for you!"
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest and its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
