After a career of working with the family business, Pete longed for those days on the ranch. He set out to find suitable property in northern California. Finally, in 2003, after a few years of searching, Pete found a 47-acre former crane melon field in southwest Santa Rosa: the future Swayne Family Ranch. After convincing his wife, Sherry, and their two kids (and Sherry’s mom) to move, they all came to Santa Rosa in 2004. It took two years to build – a little longer than anticipated!
