The Andalusian producer earned its second-straight award at the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest for its Verde Divino brand, an organic medium-intensity Picual.

"At Verde Divino, we are very proud to win a Gold Award in this prestigious competition for the second consecutive year," said chief executive Eva Jiménez. "This encourages us to continue our path and always bet on quality."

The award for Aceites Moral came after another challenging harvest for producers in southern Spain.

"We faced a very difficult harvest," Jiménez said. "We had already been accumulating bad harvests over the years, and this one has been even worse. There was very little oil production and a large rise in prices due to it, with its consequent impact on consumption."
