Tuscany’s Fattoria di Volmiano Continues Winning Ways in New York
Italian producer Fattoria di Volmiano has won its third Gold Award in four years at the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.
I’m so proud for this win. It’s a great result to continue to recive this award.
Lapo Gondi, CEO
The Tuscan company earned the award for its flagship brand, a medium-intensity organic blend, at the 2024 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition. The oil was previously awarded in 2021 and 2023.
"I'm so proud of this win," chief executive Lapo Gondi said. "It's a great result to continue to receive this award."
Like many producers in Tuscany, Gondi had to overcome adverse climate conditions and a production decline to achieve his award-winning results.
Situated 20 kilometers from Florence, Fattoria di Volmiano undertakes an early harvest of its 23,000 Frantoio, Leccino and Moraiolo olives each year using traditional methods to produce its award-winning extra virgin olive oil.
