Southern California’s Pura Grove Celebrates First NYIOOC Gold
Southern California producer Pura Grove has won a Gold Award at the 2024 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's largest olive oil quality contest.
We are so excited to win this award. We will continue to work hard on producing the best olive oil.
Tim Bui, CEO
The organic-focussed company was awarded for a medium-intensity organic blend, which previously earned Silver Awards in 2022 and 2023.
"We are so excited to win this award," chief executive Tim Bui said. "We will continue to work hard on producing the best olive oil."
In the 2023/24 crop year, Pura Grove produced 3,500 liters of extra virgin olive oil using traditional methods from its 10,000-tree grove in the Deluz Hills between San Diego and Los Angeles.
"The unusual rain and weather affected our production this year," Bui said. "It changed the harvest date and dragged out the milling process to over two months, from what would normally be one month out of the year."
