In the 2019/20 season, the company produced 7,000 liters of extra virgin olive oil using traditional methods. Girone picked up the award for its GangaLupo, a medium Coratina.
"Winning such a prestigious award is really important to us," owner Maria Bisceglie said. "It makes us feel proud and makes us understand that by working hard, we get results."
Producing award-winning extra virgin olive oil in Puglia is never easy, and Bisceglie said this year was no exception.
"Every year the olive harvest is a challenge for us," she said. "The goal is to make the best of it every year."
