The Andalusian-based company earned its debut award at the 2024 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for its Luz de Olivar brand, a medium-intensity Picual.
"For us, the award is a strong signal of support that allows us to know that all our work and determination has its rewards," said co-owner Fátima Centeno Molina.
She cited the hot spring and drought that impacted producers across Andalusia in the 2022/23 and 2023/24 crop years as the main challenges the company faced to produce award-winning extra virgin olive oil.
"Drought and high temperatures have made the last two campaigns complicated due to very low production," Centeno said. "But that doesn't take away the love and respect we have for our groves."
"We continue to care for them with the affection that they so deserve, with systems that are not aggressive with the environment and moving towards a sustainable future," she added.
