15 Olives Triumphs at World Competition

15 Olives from the United States has won three Silver Awards at the 2024 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's largest olive oil quality contest.

The company, which grows and mills olives in Florida and California, earned the awards for its Robust brand, a medium-intensity blend; its Bold Tuscan brand, a delicate blend; and its Mild brand, a medium blend.

"The awards are presented to all team members involved in production," said owner Stuart Alfonso. "Knowing that our olive oils are amongst the best in the world creates an environment of satisfied staff ready to meet and exceed the next years challenges. Once again, the main challenges faced by the 15 Olives production team to yield award-winning extra virgin olive oil were timing the harvest correctly on opposite sides of the country and ensuring the trees were watered just enough ahead of the harvest.

"We rely on our specialized team members to make sure we are getting the testing results required prior to harvest," Alfonso said. "Timing is one of keys to a high-quality, award-winning extra virgin olive oil."

"Monitoring oil to water ratios, scheduling trucking and having the mill prepped, primed and ready for a steady, efficient process are the keys to success," he added.
