Farms Planet Awarded for Two Hojiblancas

8 months agoBy OOT Staff

Farms Planet from Spain has won two awards for its brands at the 2024 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's largest olive oil quality contest.

The company earned a Gold Award for Mikel's Fruit, an organic medium Hojiblanca produced in Catalonia and another Gold Award for its Aceites Canoliva Bio Green, an organic medium Hojiblanca produced in Andalusia.

Farm Planet chief executive Jordi Giró celebrated the two awards and said they would help the company promote its organic extra virgin olive oils.

After years of drought, "the rain was a handicap this year, but every year we produce in high quality," Giró added. Farms Planet produced its extra virgin olive oil from 150,000 tons of hand-harvested olives.

The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition is the world's preeminent olive oil quality contest. Its annual list of award winners is the authoritative guide to the world's best olive oils and the dedicated producers who craft them.

The complete list of winners can be viewed in the Official Guide to the World's Best Olive Oils.
