Late Harvest Yields The Olive Plantation Early Wins at NYIOOC
The Olive Plantation, a California-based producer, has won two Silver Awards at the 2024 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition.
These two awards for 2024 confirm how we feel about our extra virgin olive oil... [they confirm] it as a top extra virgin olive oil. That is such an honor.
Dave Fenton, owner
With olives harvested in Temecula, south of Los Angeles, the company earned awards for a medium-intensity blend and a delicate Bella Di Cerignola. Both brands were previously awarded in 2022.
"These two awards for 2024 confirm how we feel about our extra virgin olive oil; we can tell our customers how much we love our oil, but when the NYIOOC does, it confirms it as a top extra virgin olive oil," owner Dave Fenton said. "That is such an honor."
Due to California's unusually wet autumn and winter weather, he added that the harvest started later than usual but still yielded fantastic results.
"The late harvest put us through the end of January with surprisingly high polyphenols, over 500, and the highest quantity of oil to date from our boutique farm," Fenton confirmed.
