Goya España Adds 4 to NYIOOC Wins
Spanish producer Goya España has won three Gold and one Silver Award at the 2020 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition.
We're very happy. This award is very important for us and we would like to collaborate in more fields with the U.S. olive oil sector.
Luis Domingo Sáenz, marketing manager
The Andalusian producer earned the three Gold Awards for Goya Organic, an organic medium blend, Goya Único, a robust blend, and Goya Robusto, a medium blend. The company received Silver for Goya, its medium blend.
This year's award haul brings the company's total number of wins at the NYIOOC up to nine.
"We're very happy," marketing manager Luis Domingo Sáenz said. "This award is very important for us and we would like to collaborate in more fields with the U.S. olive oil sector."
Goya España produces organic extra virgin olive oil from a blend of Arbequina, Hojiblanca, Leccino and Picual olives using traditional methods.
Domingo Sáenz added that winning awards in the U.S. is especially important, given the growing demand for olive oil in the country.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest and its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
