The Lakonia-based company picked up the awards for its Kouzini Agourelaio Early Harvest, a medium-intensity Athinolia, and a medium blend.
"We feel very honored to have placed this year at the NYIOOC," owner Antonios Kasandrinos said. "There is a lot of hard work and dedication in what we do!"
"We want to share our product with everyone and we feel the NYIOOC provides customers with peace of mind knowing that they are getting an authentic extra virgin olive oil," he added.
Kouzini produces extra virgin olive oil from Athinolia and Koroneiki olives using traditional harvesting methods.
Kasandrinos said that while 2019 was no more or less difficult than any other year, the climate has been playing a bigger role in each of his harvests recently.
"Climate has played a big role in the harvest recently," he said. "As there is no controlling the climate or weather, adapting and learning is the best way to stay ahead!"
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest and its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
