Loopline Olives ‘Delighted’ With Double Win

4 years agoBy Masha Richart

Loopline Olives from New Zealand has won 2 Gold Awards at the 2020 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.

I am delighted to have won Gold medals for the second year in a row at such a prestigious competition. New Zealand oils are excellent and it is very rewarding to see Loopline Olives quality recognised on the global stage one again.

Stephen Davies Howard, Owner, Loopline Olives

The winning oils were the robots Loopline Olives Picholine and the robust Loopline Olives Picual.

"The 2019 harvest in New Zealand was a good one. We raced frosts to harvest the last variety of the four we produce, but all was well. Yields were good and the quality was excellent, producing some beautiful oils," company owner Stephen Davies Howard said on learning of the wins.

The company produced 3,500 liters of extra virgin olive oil from 1,000 Picholine and Picual olives using traditional methods this year.

"I am delighted to have won Gold medals for the second year in a row at such a prestigious competition. New Zealand oils are excellent and it is very rewarding to see Loopline Olives quality recognised on the global stage one again," Davies Howard said.

The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest and its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
