The company earned a Gold Award for a medium-intensity Arbequina and two Silver Awards for a medium Arbosana and medium Koroneiki.
"We are always proud to win awards from the NYIOOC," said co-owner Amelia Bilbeisi. Al-Maida previously earned three World Competition awards in 2021, 2022 and 2023.
The company produced 120 tons of extra virgin olive oil using machine methods in the 2023/24 crop year. While climate change poses the most significant challenge to producers in Jordan, Bilbeisi said Al-Maida is rising to the challenge.
"Rises in temperatures and the unpredictability of the changing weather have led us to rely on data analysis and climate-adaptive irrigation more this year than ever before, which has led us to a greater yield while still being able to produce high quality," she confirmed.
