In the 2019/20 season, the Andalusian company produced 30,000 liters of extra virgin olive oil using traditional methods.
"Naturally, we are extremely proud to get a Gold Award at the NYIOOC," CEO Mercedes de la Rosa said. "We are particularly happy because it shows our partners that this olive oil that we love is also appreciated by a prestigious jury."
She added that the 2019/20 season was marked by significant challenges, including an enduring drought.
"Indeed, in 2019 we were impacted by a very big drought," de la Rosa said. "The overall production of the olive grove, barely reached half of the previous year."
"Regarding the water, our strategy is very prudent," she added. "In our region, water has always been sacred. Only a small part of the olive grove is equipped to be irrigated, but still the quality that we produce has been maintained."
