Central Italian producer Tamia has won its nineteenth award at the 2024 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition.
Winning at the NYIOOC is a tremendous honor... This recognition strengthens our brand's reputation, builds customer trust and reinforces our commitment to excellence and growth.

Situated in Lazio, the company earned a Gold Award for its Tamia Gold Organic brand. "Winning at the NYIOOC is a tremendous honor, especially because we have a deep connection with the competition," said chief executive Pietro Re.
"Our first entry in 2014 resulted in a Best in Class, and we've consistently achieved top scores each year since," he said. "This recognition strengthens our brand's reputation, builds customer trust and reinforces our commitment to excellence and growth."
Since its first World Competition entry one decade ago, the company has been awarded across five brands. Since 2015, Tamia Gold Organic has earned eight awards.
Similarly to other producers in central and northern Italy, Tamia experienced a production decrease during the 2023/24 crop year.
"Our harvest did decrease compared to the previous year, but it was an acceptable drop," Re said. "Yields fell by an average of 1.5 points with the same olive varieties and harvest period."
"However, the quality of the olives harvested was excellent," he added. "The biggest challenge was the cost of organic olives in the local market, which doubled in some cases."
