The Puglia-based company earned its debut accolade at the 2024 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for its FedericoII Peranzana brand, a medium Peranzana.
"We are honored to have obtained this prestigious award, once again enhancing the value of our product and especially the efforts made to create it," said owner Maria Lamedica.
In the 2023/24 crop year, Voglia Di Puglia produced 5,000 liters of extra virgin olive oil using traditional methods.
"Climate change has played a bad role in our production; the heat was present at very high temperatures, but thanks to our irrigation and pruning systems, we arrived at the harvest, transforming a fruit that was intact and in full health," Lamedica said.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition is the world's preeminent olive oil quality contest. Its annual list of award winners is the authoritative guide to the world's best olive oils and the dedicated producers who craft them.
